Artist Statement
Life, to me, is a vibrant kaleidoscope—ever-shifting and full of colour. Whether I’m cycling through my neighbourhood or exploring distant places, I’m captivated by the details: patterned tiles, weathered doors, buzzing markets, art, textiles, and quiet, everyday magic. These moments—conversations, shared meals, textures, emotions—layer themselves into a rich inner archive that fuels my creativity.
I believe beauty lives in the small things and that art is like a Tardis—bigger on the inside, able to carry us through time, place, and feeling. Working in mixed media, I combine colour, texture, and memory to create art that tells stories and invites exploration. I hope that as you explore my work, you feel a spark of connection and a sense of stepping into something unexpected.
Note:
A Tardis is a time-traveling machine from the series Doctor Who—on the outside it looks like a simple blue telephone box, ordinary outside, limitless within.
"More is more and less is a bore"
— Iris Apfel.

I’m a maker who loves the freedom to play. Every piece I create is a little adventure — from the first splash of paint to that moment I step back and think, “Wow… I made that!” That’s the happiness I chase: crafting something with my own hands that might just bring a smile to someone else.
10 Fun facts about me
1
Globetrotter
I’ve explored 32 countries and landed in two others without technically visiting them (layovers count, right?).
2
Costume Cameleon
Over the years, I’ve "dressed-up" as a mermaid, Little Bo Peep, Elvis, Nephratiti, Cleopatra, wonder woman, the Queen of Hearts, walking Birds nest (easy with my hair) Whether it’s handmade, thrifted, or wildly improvised, I love turning imagination into outfits!
3
Fashion Design Student
I was a finalist in the Young Designer Awards (hosted by the Australian Wool Corporation). My design was inspired by an emu which much easier to draw than to turn into a dress.
4
Collumbia Camping
Tayrona National Park—a wild, breathtaking stretch of jungle and coastline—was where I camped in a hammock beneath palms. At night, strange sounds echoed, and locals whispered of a creature roaming nearby. Between that and falling coconuts, sleeping felt more like a brave act than a necessity. Unnerving, surreal, and unforgettable.
5
Famous Friends
I’ve had the privilege of meeting some amazing creatives, including Annie Sloan, Dionne Woods, Jonathon Marc Mendes, and Lori Siebert—all inspiring and wonderful! Plus, I’ve met a few people who will be famous—mark my words.
6
Jack of all trades
My job history is as colorful as my art: Dressmaker, zoo cafeteria (sadly, not with the animals), lunch bar, fish&chip shop, telesales (lasted two shifts because I couldn’t stop laughing), dishwasher, neoprene mender (which made me a "specialist"), adventure sports host, bead shop, toy shop assistant, waitress at Hooters. There’s more, but you understand why Im happy painting.
7
Multilingual-ish
I speak German with a Swiss accent and petit peu French. I may not be fluent, but I can navigate a French menu, which is arguably the most important skill.
8
Shower Genius
My best ideas happen in the shower, there’s something about the water and solitude that sparks my most creative thoughts. If only I could take notes mid-shampoo.
9
Circus Trauma
As a kid, I was randomly pulled from the crowd at a circus to hold a piece of paper in my mouth-which a whip cracker then whipped out. As a shy child, this was mortifying, but I survived (with all my teeth intact!).
10
Airbourne
Once upon a time, I was a solo paraglider pilot, soaring through the skies of Switzerland, New Zealand and Australia - just me, the wind, and an unbeatable view.
Kim White
Bio
Kim White is a multifaceted artist with a curious spirit and a deep love for colour, patterns and creative exploration. Born in Perth Western Australia and now living in the Swiss Alps, her art is shaped by contrasting landscapes, a background in fashion design and a playful eye for detail.
Her paintings rooted in abstract realism often centre around women.Their inner worlds, quiet strength, and layered stories-brought to life through layered textures, expressive forms, and bold brushstrokes.

Playfully resourceful, she’s drawn to what others overlook - a little magpie who finds beauty in the Brocante.
Whether reimagining an old chair or stitching life into forgotten fabric, her work celebrates the charm of imperfection and the joy of reinvention.
She works from her own Atelier and Gallery shop -
(The Mad Cow ) a colourful, evolving space and creative hub. Here, she shares her latest work, hosts hands-on workshops and welcomes others into a world of creativity and meaningful connection.
Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious. Whether painting or out exploring, Kim’s artistic talent is matched by her adventurous spirit and constant curiosity for new ideas and inspiration.

Wild Encounters
I’ve cuddled a lion, sat beside a real white tiger (and cheekily lifted his tail), and been wrapped in a full-on bear hug by giant orangutans. These incredible moments with wild animals were both humbling and unforgettable!
